We already got milkshakes

These are a few of my favorite things (from the past few days)...
  • Ty is really big on "why" these days.  After daycare on Wednesday, Mitch and Ty went to Sonic to grab dinner.  Ty asked where I was, Mitch told him work, of course, Ty asked why.  Mitch said to make money.  Ty asked why.  Mitch said we needed money so we could get milkshakes.  Ty contemplated about it for a bit, then looked at Mitch and said, "Mama come home now.  We already got milkshakes now."
  • I accidently hit Tyler's elbow on my bowl of popcorn and said, "oh sorry, Ty."  He responds, "Ty sorry too Mom."  Yes son, you should be.
  • Dad:  I love you Ty.  Ty:  I love you too, Dada.  That seems so silly, but him adding the "too" is so sweet!
  • Tyler keeps talking about his baby brother...I had to text Mitch and ask him if there was something I needed to know about.
  • We pray every night before bedtime.  We pray for Tyler Juden to watch over Ty-Ty, we pray for all of the babies in Newtown, we pray for all of the sad Mommies and Daddies, we pray to be a good boy, we pray for our people we love, we pray for lots!  Ty repeats after us, but we are starting to ask him who he wants to pray for too.  Wednesday, Ty said he wanted to pray for "Mama and Dada baby."  Mitch said, "are you our baby?"  Ty said, "no, mama and daddy new baby."  Well folks, unless he knows something I don't, this is false.
  • Mitch was still laying in bed after Ty and I had gotten up and played a bit.  Ty goes back in our room and says, "oh no, Dada is sick.  You need medicine.  One minute." Walks to our cabinet where there is medicine, gets his medicine dropper and a large bottle of shampoo.  He takes it back to Mitch and pretends to get some shampoo out, puts the dropper in Mitch's mouth and says, "all better now."
  • Ty got to go hang out at Stephanie & Jeff's house.  They always give him M&M's.  Last night on his way home, Ty told Mitch, "Jeff gave me M&M's and I said thank-you.  I love Steph and Jeff."  The way to Ty's heart!
  • We were headed to the farm but I had to run by work first.  We pull into the parking lot in New Market Square and Ty looks at me and says, "this not farm!!"  Needless to say, he was not impressed.

Wow! That's realllly awessssome!

Apparently I'm sailing the Fail Boat...I've been meaning to post for about a week now...but, better late than never!  The biggest problem with me waiting so long in-between posts is that there are a TON of Tylerisms, even though i have forgotten a lot...I will try to limit them today.

Driving a boat...no big deal!
  • About a week before Christmas, when Tyler woke up, he would say, "I'm so excited!"  I would ask him why, and he would just say, "Santa came."  Talk about disappointment when he saw Santa didn't come!
  • We have an "Elf on the Shelf" named Bertie.  Ty would find him and then we would have him talk to Bertie to tell him he was going to be good at school/daycare, etc.  One morning, Ty found Bertie while I was upstairs; when I started to walk downstairs, Ty was covering his mouth and laughing.  When I asked him what was laughing at, he told me that Bertie is so funny.  Hmm....who is being fooled here: us or Tyler?
  • Last week when it snowed, Tyler woke up, looked out the window, got the biggest smile on his face and said, "It's Christmas morning!!!"  (Have we watched too many Christmas shows??!)
  • For some reason, we had a boo-boo on our nose and NEEDED a band-aid for it.
  • We told Ty we were going to go to Kansas City to see Gus and Freddie (our nephews).  Ty talked to Papa Buck on the phone and he told Ty that he was going to come pick us up and we would all ride together.  This conversation happened Friday morning and Ty complained, yelled, and cried A LOT until Saturday at 11:00 am, when Papa Buck picked us up, that he wanted to go to Kansas City.  Jeez!  We couldn't get in the car without him thinking we were going to KC.
  • On the car ride up to KC, Tyler has on fire!  He was cheesing and being ornery like it was his job!  He kept yelling and making strange noises.  At one point he and Uncle A.J. competed to see who could make the noises the longest/loudest.  Joyful for all of us in the car!  He pulled Aunt Molly's hair and ears, and my most-favorite...he kept licking his toes.  NASTY!
  • Once we finally made it to Kansas City (for Gus' Birthday Party), Ty and Gus got in an argument about Leo's name, Gus' "Elf on the Shelf."  Ty kept insisting it was Bertie.  (They don't even look alike!)
This was taken at the Farm, not KC...but still cute!
  • We went to Ark City for Christmas this year.  Let me paint a little picture of how Ty-Ty looked on the way: one of my headbands, dad's duck calls, his rain boots, football in cup-holder of carseat, and engrossed in a movie.
  • Watching Ty open up Christmas presents was awesome!  He would start to rip open the paper and make a face like he was so excited and go, "oooooohhhhhh woooowwwww."  That's the reaction the box would get!
  • Waking up on Christmas morning, the first thing Ty saw was a train set and candy...he went straight to the candy, looked at me and smiled a sweet, innocent smile. He reached his hand in the bowl, while still looking at me to see what I would do, and took one M&M and quickly shoved it in his mouth.  When he saw I didn't stop him, he didn't stop either until he saw there were lots of toys that needed attention!  He (un)fortunately got my uncontrollable sweet tooth.
  • While in Ark City for Christmas, Tyler had a lot to say to Aunt Ali and Dustin and Grandma Karen!  He and Ali had wrestle mania, took tons of pictures/videos of Ty, and Ty watched all of those videos and laughed and then wanted to see them again.
  • When we were getting the car loaded up to leave AC, Ty and Grandma Karen were talking on Grandma's phone.  AKA: Ty was taking Grandma's phone and pretending to talk.  Here is the conversation we heard: "Hi Gus-Bear.  <pause for response> Your birthday party. <pause for response> Wow!  That's realllllly awessssome. <pause for response>" Then Ty would cover his mouth and laugh.  He has never seen me talk on the phone like that!  ;)  The video  below is not this exact phone conversation, but another comical one!

I have missed a lot because I got busy and lazy....but I will be back with more soon.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I know that we did.

    Do you know??

I haven't noticed as many "funnies" the past few days...a lot of that has to do with work/daycare so we aren't together as much.  Monday morning there was something he did/said and I text Mitch "I can't make this stuff up."  What was it?  I don't know, if you do, let me know!  Momnesia kicked in there.  Here are some that I remember though.  :)
    • Last night as he was taking a bath, I heard a slurping sound and then he said, "Mm-mm.  Ty drinking juice.  It's good."  Juice=bath water.  YUCK!  Parents of the Year over here laughed though.  Laughing just encourages him...bad parents.
    • Also, last night Tyler thought he was a gorilla so there was a lot of chest pounding and gorilla noises.
    • Uncle Joe taught Ty-Ty about "skeezing," basically a light scratch on your belly/back.  Ty is obsessed with it!  It is how we relax and unwind before bed.  Once Tyler saw his belly, he said he had a tummy ache.  I don't take that lightly because last time he told me that there was an explosion that Mama had to clean it up.  No bueno.  After a little talk about it, he said he needed medicine and started to rub his chest.  What does that mean?  We have been using Vick's Vapor Rub like it's going out of style...guess he thought I didn't put enough on the first time.
    • This morning Ty got on the potty to do his business.  Most kids sit to do so, but not this kid.  He smiles at me and says, "I like a frog Mama.  Rib-bit."  Translation:  He is squatting on the toilet, like a frog.  Needless to say, there was a mess EVERYWHERE!  (As a side note, I tried to take a picture but there wasn't a "good" angle to take one...and then there was a mess.)
    • Tyler was spending the day with Grandma Karen and they were play arguing.  Grandma would say yes, Tyler would say no, Grandma would say no, Tyler would say yes, yadda yadda yadda.  Then Grandma said, "I don't think so," and Tyler says, "Me yes think so."
    • Tonight Aunt Hanna and Jake picked little man up from daycare.  Of course, they had to play football...because we do that EVERY day.  Hanna told Tyler it was time to take a time-out for a little bit.  Tyler immediately agrees and says that Jake needs to go to time-out.  He walked him into the kitchen to the Tyler's time-out stool/Mama's step stool and made him sit down.  After awhile, he told Hanna that Jake was ready to be nice now so he could come out of time-out.  (Sorry if I didn't get that completely right Hanna...let me know!)
As I'm typing, I keep remembering more and more, but I think I will call it a night!  Hope at least one of these puts a little smile on your face.  :)

A few of my favorite's from the past...

    • One of the small presents under the Christmas Tree is wrapped in shiny silver paper.  Tyler immediately says, "Ty-Ty's birthday cake," and starts licking it.  Sorry Grandma Karen--your present has some extra love!
    • Holding a basketball and wearing nothing but socks, Ty yells down the stairs at "you kids" and tells them it's his basketball. (No one else is here.) I ask him who he's talking to and he looks and me, scrunches his face, and annoyingly says, "ah, what now Mom?"
    • Ty throws a couple of pieces of cereal on the ground and says: Mama pick them up. Oh my little friend, challenge accepted. I already know who wins (me)!
    • I may or may not have popped a tiny pimple between my eyebrows this morning.  Tyler is sitting on the potty (doing our big kid business, yay!!) and he says, "oh no, Mama what's that?"  I tell him it's a little ouchie and he says, "Dada push Mama and give her ouchie."  I do my best to keep a straight face and assure him that Dada did not push me.  He then gives me a stone-cold look and says, "No, Dada push Mama back and give her ouchie."  It was a lot harder to keep a straight face the second time, but I again assure him Dada didn't push me.  I quickly walked away then so I could laugh.  This little story tells me that this little man's imagination is going to be big!                                             ****DISCLAIMER:  My husband does not abuse me in any way.  He does not push me, he does not shove me, he does not kick me, he does not degrade me.  Anyone that knows me knows that I would have a lot to say about something like that.  :)****
    • I just witness my 2-year old son try to do a Jillian Michaels workout video. Let's just say he's not a pro at his kicks and jumps.
    • Tyler pees his pants. I say, "I'm so sad. We don't pee our pants, we use the big boy potty." Tyler's response: "Mom, don't cry. Be a girl and don't cry."
    • Driving home from church we see a ton of geese and Mitch (aka Dada) comments on them all. Ty's response? Takes off one shoe and one sock, points his sock out the window, makes shooting noises, and says, "goose, come here, I shoot you."
    • A few minutes after I lay Tyler down for nap, I hear him playing. I think (hopefully) he will lay down in a bit... A few minutes later he comes out of his room in a Wildcat stocking cap that he had to dig through his closet find. I take the hat and lay him back down… A few minutes later I hear him again. This time when he comes out he yawns and says "Ty-Ty wake up. Good nap mama."
These are just a few (when I say few, I seriously mean a few, everyday there are at least 10 things I want to tell the world)...a fast preview of what's to come!

    The story behind the blog

Tyler, my two-year old, has so many one-liners that I decided I would start compiling them for family and friend's entertainment.  If nothing else, it will be good "blackmail" as he grows up.  My goal is to post every other day or so with my favorites for the day.
