| In "Aunt Ali's" tent! |
- We had apple crisp and ice cream for dessert one evening, and Ty loved it! When Ty woke up in the morning, I asked him what he wanted for breakfast: cereal, oatmeal, or pancakes (our stand-bys). He thought about it for a moment, then said, "me want ice cream." Needless to say, he was thoroughly disappointed when I didn't cave and give it to him.
- Somehow, Ty is a freak about spilling things! When his spoon makes the journey from his bowl of cereal to his mouth, he will yell that he needs a napkin. And he will yell that until I get him one. Where did this clean freak stuff come from?? Couldn't be his mama!
- Tyler and I were heading out the door, and he decided he wanted a banana for the car ride. He went over by the counter where I keep the bananas and stood there looking at them. Then he says, "me want banana. Me like monkey in a tree. Ouhauh, ouhauh." I told him he could have the banana once I buckled him up in the car. We went out to the car and I buckled him up, handed him the semi-peeled banana, and ran back inside to grab my purse. I could hear Ty from inside saying, "ouhauh, ouhauh, me monkey."
- Ty got new cowboy boots for Christmas and they were a tiny bit small for big-foot, so we took them back to Sheplers. That in itself was an adventure! Every pair I put on that kid, he said they were his and he would (try) to run around and show me how great they were. When I say try, I mean his mama is way too for him to get away.
- When we left Sheplers, we decided to stop by the farm to show off our new kicks. It was around lunchtime and when we were close, I asked Ty what he thought we could eat at the farm. At first he said popcorn, but when I agreed, he changed his mind. He said, "No, I eat pretzels at the farm. <insert pause> Pretzels in my mouth. Mmmmmmm."
- We had an eventful weekend. We went to Aunt Ali & Dustin's house to see them and Papa Dave, Brenda, and Kalyn. Ty was not spoiled at all!!! Saturday, everyone (minus myself and Kalyn) went to Fritz's for lunch and then the aquarium to see the fish. When I asked Ty about the fish, he told me they were "skishy."
- I'm sure Ty had about 50,000 funnies, but I wasn't making mental notes and that momnesia of mine kicked in...I will say though, Aunt Ali put a KU (YUCK!!!!!!) sticker on Ty's face. Don't worry, when we got home, he still told me that Jayhawks were stinky. Whew!
- And of course, when I dropped Ty off at School on Monday and Tuesday, the waterworks came. Boo Hiss!
- Tyler now enjoys putting his bath toys, regular toys, etc in time-out. He will wait a bit then ask the object, "are you ready to be nice now? <pause> That's awessommmmme." He sometimes will put himself there after the toys, for no apparent reason, at least we think...
- I asked Ty if he painted at school today and he said, "Yes, it's in kitchen. Be right back." He then runs into the kitchen and gets the painting off of the fridge that has been there at least a week. "See Mom. It's my painting." He then makes both Mitch and I look at it and say, "wow." He starts to walk back towards the kitchen, turns around and says, "I put it back on fridge. It be safe there."
- Lately, Tyler has been obsessed with putting everything in time-out. He puts his toys in time-out. He puts his shoes in time-out. He puts his blanket in time-out. You get the picture.
